What this business publishes about itself
The Merchant Antiques and Vintage
Located in Inverness, The Merchant Antiques is a specialized home goods store and showroom established in 2013. The business operates across a two-floor showroom situated near the Greig Street Bridge. With over 40 years of professional experience in the industry, the shop facilitates the buying and selling of a diverse range of items spanning from traditional antiques to modern collectibles. Their extensive inventory includes fine art, period furniture, vintage jewellery, and sterling silver. Additionally, the store maintains a focused selection of militaria, coins, and rare books, catering to both casual decorators and serious collectors.
Beyond retail operations, The Merchant Antiques provides essential professional services for the local community. These include comprehensive house clearance and valuations for probate, conducted in collaboration with local solicitors to ensure accurate estate management. Because the inventory is high-turnover and sold through both the physical storefront and social media platforms, the business prioritizes direct communication for inquiries via telephone, WhatsApp, or email rather than a standard online checkout system. This approach allows the staff to provide detailed information on specific collectibles and quality stock items before a transaction is completed.
The shop is open to the public Monday through Friday and maintains a strict policy regarding large bags and backpacks to protect the integrity of the fragile stock. As a prominent Inverness antique dealer, the establishment serves as a hub for those seeking unique historical items, offering expert knowledge and appraisal services for residents and visitors across the United Kingdom.
