What this business publishes about itself
Peebles Auction House
Peebles Auction House is a professional firm of auctioneers and valuers specializing in the sale of antiques, fine art, and high-value collectables. The firm conducts regularly scheduled sales, including live online auctions and timed 4-weekly auctions that allow for 24-hour bidding. Their inventory spans a wide variety of categories, with particular expertise in Scottish contemporary art, featuring works by artists such as Jolomo, Jack Vettriano, and Barbara Redpath. Other frequent auction categories include fine jewelry and watches, precious metals like gold and silver, and rare numismatics.
The auction house provides a comprehensive range of services for both buyers and sellers, including free professional valuations conducted either at their premises or within a client's home. They are a primary provider of full house and garage clearance services, assisting clients with the efficient dispersal of estates. The saleroom accepts entries from Monday to Friday and hosts public viewing days prior to each scheduled sale, allowing prospective bidders to inspect lots in person. Notable historical sales at the venue have included rare single malt whiskies, military medals such as the Distinguished Conduct Medal, and vintage ceramics.
Beyond traditional auction services, Peebles Auction House facilitates the sale of residential property through auction. The business maintains a strong local and national presence, having served as a filming location for television programs like The Travelling Auctioneers. Their diverse catalogues frequently feature specialist collections, ranging from Game of Thrones themed malts to rare hallmarked silver and Victorian furniture, catering to a global audience of collectors and investors.
