H&H Auction Rooms

H&H Auction Rooms, a trading name of Harrison & Hetherington Ltd, is one of the longest established auction houses in the North of England. Located at the Rosehill Industrial Estate in Carlisle, Cumbria, the firm specializes in the sale of antiques, home furnishings, and interiors. The auction house hosts regular sales, often featuring over 600 lots per event, including items such as military uniforms, works of art, collectors’ items, and garden ornaments. These auctions allow for participation via in-person attendance, commission bids, or through an online catalogue system.

The business provides a comprehensive range of professional services, including written valuations for solicitors and private clients. These valuations are tailored for specific requirements such as probate, insurance, and inheritance tax planning. Additionally, H&H Auction Rooms offers a complete house clearance service. Acting as an agent for the seller rather than a clearance firm, they focus on maximizing financial returns by identifying and selling valuable contents through their established auction platform. The facility includes dedicated viewing days prior to sales, providing potential buyers with professional advice and physical access to lots.

Key specialties include the trade of vintage hifi separates, furniture, and historical artifacts. The team provides ongoing support for both buyers and sellers, managing the logistics of item cataloging and sale execution. Operating with a focus on regional expertise, the auction house serves the broader Northern English market through its structured valuation and agency services.
